A Page From the Dunkeldorf Tome: Floria
The courtesan stood at the end of the bar in The Prancing Peacock, took another sip of her expensive wine and continued to observe the room for a potential client. And not just any client, a rich one, and with a bit of luck, a rich, drunk one.
Floria's hunt was suddenly interrupted as a drunken gambler staggered up to her and placed his hand firmly on her behind. "Well hello there honey ... Such a fine looking gal shouldn't be drinking alone. How bout' we find a room and have a drink together upstairs?" the gambler said with a sly smile and a wink, his breath stinking of cheap tobacco and even cheaper whiskey...
In the blink of an eye, the courtesan had drawn an ornate dagger hidden beneath her dress and had it at the gambler's throat. "Listen “honey”, I'm busy... and honestly... I am fairly certain that you can't afford what I'm selling..."
The courtesan grabbed the man's coinpurse and opened it, all the while holding the dagger to his throat. She chuckled, "Oh dear... Rough night at the tables was it?"
"Well, I'll just take half of this as an apology for your rude behaviour and for touching me without my permission."
"Now, if you're looking for some action within your current price range, I suggest you seek out Toothless Tilda down at the docks... Now piss off before you get hurt."
Floria winked at Littleton the halfling innkeeper standing behind the bar, who smiled back and then casually gestured to Leopold, the huge ogre bouncer standing at the entrance. The ogre ran towards the gambler at full speed, with a goofy yet menacing grin on his face. "You out now!" The ogre yelled as he picked the gambler up with one arm and tossed him out onto the streets.
The regulars at The Prancing Peacock knew better than to mess with Floria. She and Littleton were known to be business partners, and not all their schemes were on the right side of the law....
